I'm Going to Butter your Biscuit
Highland Bakery - Atlanta, GA
Roberto and I both typically work from home. Lately, he's been working like a maniac with several of his clients and I've been so busy and traveling for work...a lot. However; there was one Friday afternoon that we were both home and we were starving. I looked over at him and said "yo, babe. Let's go get some biscuits." With no hesitation he got up and we left. One of my favorite biscuit places in ATL is Highland Bakery, they have golden, flakey, delicious buttery biscuits..in the morning. Keep in mind, we did this at like 2pm on a Friday and the morning biscuit crowd had run through the fresh ones and we received heated up biscuits. Don't get me wrong; still delightful AF, but not as fresh as they typically are.
My advice would be to get to these early in the morning. If you go on a weekend you'll wait for a while to get a table in their super cute old factory location. I suggest going to their main location, in the Old 4th Ward (address below) and get the full on experience. Its not fancy, they just have good, down home southern biscuits. They have various options for breakfast: southern fried chicken biscuits, fried chicken Benedict, sweet potato pancakes, shrimp and grits - literally anything southern and tasty, you can get here.
I hope you enjoy a good ol' morning biscuit!
